From the Airline / National school of reso-glass guitars comes this interesting beauty.
I wish I’d snapped some pictures of the electronics repair we had to do on this guitar. As great as reso-glass guitars look, they can be very tricky when it comes to electronics. Instead of being mounted on a removable pick guard – like a Strat or being accessed through a control cavity – like a Les Paul, everything is mounted onto the molded fiberglass body. To access the components, we have to remove the neck, peel off the black strip running along the side, and pull the front and back halves apart. But at least the payoff is a unique sounding and undeniably cool-looking piece of guitar art. We like it!
